Guy Shoesmith - Club Professional
Member of The PGA since 1995
Southern Professionals Champion 2006
Guy coaches every aspect of the game from driving through to putting and has also attended training courses to help golfers who suffer particularly from the "yips". For those who feel that flexibility/mobility/injuries affect their game he also works closely with physio, Mary Mackay, who was Nick Faldo's physio on tour.
He also seeks to discover how you best learn so that he can use the correct mix of either video analysis, physical demonstrations, verbal explanations or the development of feelings with or without the use of training aids. By seeking a greater understanding of how you as an individual learn most effectively, he can help to minimise the time it takes you to improve and maximise the effectiveness of your practice.
Whether you would like a one off 30 minutes to fix a particular area of your game, or a block of time which can be split into as many sessions as you wish, Guy is happy to help.
If you are a new client and wish to create an improvement plan, he recommends that you begin with a Performance Analysis where he interviews you to discover the history of your game including your previous coaching, perceived strengths and weaknesses, mental strengths, practice habits, fitness/mobility, goals and ambitions. He then watches you hit a range of shots through the bag before writing a development plan for you.
